Botox is a form of a purified protein which is created from a bacteria - much like how penicillin is made. The protein is injected into different areas of the face to produce localized muscle relaxation. It can help to reduce and prevent fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movements. We offer a variety of neurotoxins to meet your needs including Xeomin, Botox and Nuceiva.

On average, Neurotoxin lasts 3-5 months (depending on the area treated) and takes 2-10 days to fully kick in. 

Neurotoxin (Botox, Nuceiva, Xeomin) is dosed in units and the number of units required varies from person to person. The strength of the muscle being treated as well as the client’s treatment goals are both considered when determining the amount of units required. This is done during the initial client consultation!

At this time Rural Beauty offers neurotoxins starting at $8 per unit.

There is little to no downtime after receiving neurotoxin treatment. Redness may be seen at the injection site, but should subside within 30 minutes. Please keep in mind that bruising can happen! Blood-thinning agents such as alcohol, Vitamin E and Ibuprofen should be avoided 24 hours before and after treatment to prevent bruising. Strenuous exercise should also be avoided for 24 hours to prevent bruising.

A lip flip treatment involves injecting a small amount of Neurotoxin (Botox, Nuceiva, Xeomin) into your Cupid’s bow and/or towards the outer corners of your mouth. The Neurotoxin works to cause temporary relaxation in the muscles around your lip. Once it has set in, the lip will “flip” upward and out, giving it a fuller appearance! 

Lip flips only last about 6-8 weeks as a small amount of Neurotoxin is used and the lip muscles are very active.
